My little wild child

Carter is becoming quite the mover these days. He has mastered the army crawl like no other. He cruises so fast, it is hilarious to watch. He has also learned the new trick of pulling himself up. I was doing dishes the other day and I look over and he has completely pulled himself up to the toy box. He was standing there with the biggest grin and so proud of himself. Carter is also now feeding himself with a fork. It's not graceful by any means, he sometimes pokes his face or nose, but he is getting the idea. Spoons we are still working on. When he pulls the spoon out he flicks whatever food is left over on his teeth, which then winds up on my forehead. I am constantly checking my face after he is done eating, Lord knows what I will find on my face or lost in my hair. Carter is continuing to get more teeth in. He has at least four that are poked through but not fully in yet. I wonder why babies only teeth at night? Doesn't it hurt during the day too? Carter's little personality continues to bloom and he is turning into quite the character. Always smiling, laughing and grabbing for something (usually on your face), he loves to give kisses and his hugs are amazing. Every once in awhile when he hugs, he gives a little pat on the back. So sweet. Carter is also high fiving. Once you start he does not like to stop. He continues to amaze me daily and I just love him to pieces. I still cannot believe that he is going to be a big brother in 4 months. I can't imagine him not being my only little boy, but I can't wait to see him as a big brother. Bitter sweet.
This weekend I deserve wife and daughter of the year award. I volunteered to be the DD for this weekend. My Dad got tickets for Eric, and his buddy to meet a bunch of other guys down at Hops and Props. It is a beer show at the Flight Museum. They went in sane, walking normal, talking at a descent volume level and came out like wild baboons. Goodness gracious. It could be that my hormones and soberness heighten their wildness but holy smokes. My loving husband told the same story over and over again on the ride home. Luckily my mother was there for moral support. We all got a good laugh at it the next day.
Well off to put baby boy to sleep. Pray for sunshine. I am sick of this cold and wet rain. I want to wear sandals!

5 months

I should be between 20 and 21 weeks now. It already feels like it has been so long, but I still have a little while to go. If I go early then only 18 weeks and counting! This stage is annoying because my regular pants, not so comfortable but maternity pants are to big. I wish I could wear sweats everyday!

Busy weekend

This weekend we had a few guests. Grandpa Robin and Grandma Georgia are getting ready for their first trip to Hawaii. So in preparation for the big event Erin (Eric's sister) and I took Georgia to get her hair done for an early birthday present. Then my parents meet us back at our place for dinner. Quite the gathering, I must say! And everyone stayed the night! (Well my parents made it home though!)

The next morning we did breakfast out at Krain's corner in Enumclaw and then headed to the spring fair. I will have to update you on the rest of our month later!

Easter with the Tharaldson family

We headed over to the woods on Saturday to visit Grandma Georgia and Grandpa Robin. It had snowed 2 inches in Bremerton before we got there, needless to say I was freezing. My in laws have a wood stove to heat the house and try to always keep it nice and warm for wimpy me. My father in law informed me that if I wasn't always wearing a leotard I wouldn't be so cold. I said "what a leotard?" Believe me, I don't go prancing around in a leotard, maybe in high school gymnastics but not anytime recently. After the emergency fashion lesson, I figured out he was talking about my leggings. I will be living in leggings for the next couple months of this pregnancy and then I may need a break from then but right now they are the most comfortable pants ever (besides sweats). We had a wonderful Easter and got to see all of Eric's family. We favorite is little kids in their Easter outfits. My niece Piper had a pretty yellow fancy dress on. And Carter was sporting a royal blue gingham shirt with a cute cap to match (2 of them actually because I couldn't decide on the color). They opened Easter baskets and treats from Great Grandparents, Grandparents and Great Aunts and Uncles. They were quite spoiled! Watch the video below of Carter and Piper unwrapping their baskets. Carter was more interested in the wrapping then anything else.

Play dates & sleep overs!

My girlfriend Amber and her daughter Macy spend a couple days with us over spring break. It was Macy's first sleep over at a friend's house. The kiddos had fun together playing with all the toys and each other. (It makes me excited for two kids because they will be so close in age and little playmates.)Amber is from Moses Lake so we had to head into the big city for some hard core shopping. I was exhausted, we did some damage and spent a fair amount of time at the mall. Carter needed some spring shirts and shoes even though it is colder now in April then it was in March but hopefully soon the sun will reappear.

On Friday we headed over to Maria's for a little play date. 4 mommies and 8 kiddos under the age of 4! Katie and the twins were suppose to come but couldn't make it because of the snow (what's up with snow in April?!?) We had a fun day! Notice in the pictures all of the kids looking every which way, my little Carter man is smiling every time you bring out the camera. He is a supermodel in training, we practice daily!

Early Easter with the Becker's

Due to my brother's busy work traveling schedule and my mother's trip to Palm Desert (spoiled lucky lady) we did Easter early at a little Mexican restaurant in Seattle. Our little Carter bug is starting to be a busy boy in restaurants. He trys to get his hands on anything he can reach, silverware, full glasses of water, napkins, any of the fun stuff. I can't wait to see what it will be like with two babies. Our restaurant days may be coming to an end or we'll be hitting up the kid friendly places!
