It's a . . .

. . . BOY! It's official, Carter is going to have a little brother. This little one was kind enough to point his bottom our way and spread his legs making it very apparent that he is a full blown boy! I will have to post some of the ultrasound pictures later. Just wanted to share the news!

Spring break- Leavenworth

We took a little trip over to Leavenworth, our favorite place. We relaxed, ate yummy food, swam and enjoyed each others company. We have discovered a little fish named Carter. He went to town in the pool. I knew he loved the water but this trip he could not get enough of it. He kicked his legs with all of his might and threw his arms in the water like he had done it all before. I need to find us a big pool to visit this summer, the kitty pool won't cut it for our little fish. It was so funny to watch.

Best buddies

Little Macy and Carter are so darn cute together. I love watching babies interact. They are so interested in each other. I hope they can be as close as Amber and I one day.

B-day party mania!

Carter is a very busy little man. We had two birthday parties this weekend. Haley's son turned 3 at the Sumner Bouncy House. Then we headed to Ellensburg where Shannon's son Jameson turned 1. Quite the day, I don't know who was more tired, Carter or I. It was great to see all of the girls in one day though. We stayed the night in Ellensburg at Katie's and played with the twins. And Amber joined us for a couple hours with sweet little Macy. Carter and Macy had fun together. The twins were great with Carter also. Presely kept bringing toys over to Carter and saying "Here Baby Carter", and Cash enjoyed taking the toys away from both of them. Silly boys, they always want their way!
The weather has been so nice, finally! The last couple nights I have got to take Carter on a walk and enjoy some sunshine. I can't wait for summer, I love heat! Although I may be the size of a whale. Hopefully I won't get Shrek ankles from the heat. My belly is just starting to peak out a little bit. No one would know I was pregnant unless they knew, strangers just probably think I have a gut. The girls have kicked it into high gear and started to fill out, how lovely! Yeah right. I had just joined the SBC (small boobie club) and now my membership has been revoked! I think I have gained about 4 or 5 pounds, not to bad. I can still fit into most of my pants just a few have been tucked away already. My favorite part of the day is coming home to put on my sweats, ahh so wonderful! And I haven't puked in a week! Cross your fingers, it is over.
Our little man continues to amaze me. He is clapping his little heart out. Everything I do, he claps, he knows just how to melt his mama's heart. I have even got him to give me high five a few times. We are continuing to work on his signing, it isn't always consistent but occasionally he uses it. Carter is making all sorts of new sounds, his favorite is a very high pitch excited yelp. He has two more teeth coming in on the top to add to his other three. He bites the spoon every time it goes in his mouth and makes it very difficult to get out. Also when he give his famous wet slobbery kisses, he has gotten us a few times with his teeth. He left a mark on Grandma Georgia's face the other day. Ouch! It isn't as if he is doing it intentionally I think he just doesn't realize that he is biting. I have been working on gentle though for the second baby's sake. How do you teach a one year old gentle? We're trying!

(Flynn's birthday party and that is Haley's dad, who loves Carter! And Carter loves all of his entertaining noises he makes.)

So now that Carter is better this week, he is now fully teething. Which is such a lovely stage. A couple nights this week he has managed to sleep through the night without waking up screaming but we have also had a couple rough nights as well. I was blessed with a little one that always sleeps through the night so hopefully the next baby will take lessons from their big brother. So far Carter only has three teeth through, it seems like there might be one that is going to pop through any day now. Carter is somewhat army crawling or what looks to be like an inch worm. It's pretty darn cute! He gets around where he needs to be and quickly. He loves giving hugs and kisses, they are very intense. He wraps his arms around your neck and really works on giving you his all with his kisses. Nice and slobbery! Carter can say "dada" and "mama". When he is crying, "moooom"! It's pretty hard to resist when he is calling my name. He loves to giggle and be tickled. His laugh will melt your heart. I want to record it and carry it around with me in my pocket. Carter is also into grabbing faces, hair, and earnings. Mommy is now only allowed to wear one pair of earning because Carter rips them out. I have tried to tell him, mommy will never stop accessorising so we are just going to have to get used to them. I do always keep a spare pair of pliers around just in case. I'm trying to teach him "gentle" but so far, no luck.

The poor second baby is already being neglected. With Carter at this point I had started taking pictures of my belly at week 8, 12, and 16. Week 16 is just about over and no pictures. I'll try to get one up this week. This second little baby is also still making mama very sick. Every time I say "oh I am so glad I am not puking any more", I get sick that day or the next. I don't feel like I have gained that much weight because I keep puking! This pregnancy is totally different. Biggest cravings- Subway veggie sub, cucumbers, cereal, and little oranges. I literally could probably eat all of those things for every meal and be just fine. Don't get me wrong I have indulged in a few desserts but nothing to exciting. Although Eric made some snickerdoodles last week that were pretty yummy. Well 11 more days and we find out what this little one will be. I can't wait. Besides waiting for this next appointment, I feel like this pregnancy is going by faster. Probably because I am running around after Carter. Before I know it, this baby will be here!

Rough week!

Oh my, first time having a very sick little man! Last Sunday Carter started acting a little more needy then usual and constantly crying, which is not like him at all. We were over in Bremerton to see the grandparents and decided we better get him home. On the way home he puked all over in the car (mostly on me because I was trying not to let it get all over the place.) And that was just the beginning of our sleepless nights. The highest his fever ever got was 103.6, I can't even imagine how miserable he felt. We took him to the doctor and he had his first ear infection and a chest infection. He got some antibiotics and an inhaler. (Yeah an inhaler, try giving that to a one year old!) Needless to say he stayed home all week with one of us here and Grandpa Nick even came over one day to work sick bay. And by about Friday, he was starting to act like his old self, which was a relief. The toughest part was the crying, oh my goodness, I was blessed with a child who always sleeps and never fusses, this week was hands down my most challenging week as a parent. At times when he was crying, I just had to join him, I couldn't help it. It was so hard not being able to fix it all and make it better. And the no sleep, not a fan! So I am thankful my little man is feeling better. I hope he is not sick again for a very long time!!!!

Now I think the teething has begun. Carter has about 3 teeth now and recently I have seen him trying to eat his own hand. I'm afraid some of my sleepless nights may not be over just yet.

(Here is a couple pics of before Carter bug was sick. Swinging at the Black Diamond park with Grandma and Grandpa Becker and playing his tunes over at Grandma Georgia and Grandpa Robin's.)
