Alki

We went out to lunch last weekend for my mom's birthday on Alki. Uncle Josh was kind enough to snap a few shots for us. We were going for Christmas shots but have not decided which will be the one (none of these will be it, because I wouldn't want to spoil the surprise!)
Post more later. Happy Veteran's Day tomorrow!

To darn cute!

Halloween was a busy day and night. I meet up with Jessica so she could peek at Carter's costume. Then headed to Enumclaw to get my mama a birthday present. Next we headed to Carter's girlfriend's house, Erika to show off his costume. She sent us home with a plate full of treats, because Eric hasn't had any sweets this month, HA! Then we had trick or treaters here so we had to pass out the small amount of candy we did have left that Eric hadn't managed to eat just yet. Next we rushed off to a party at Maria's house for the kids. Carter was a hit, Maria's family all wanted to snuggle the fierce lion. Then we couldn't go home without visiting Grandma and Grandpa Becker so we headed out there to say trick or treat. Luckily we got an extra hour of sleep because we were all pooped afterward.

October. . . already November?

It has been a crazy month. I literally blinked my eyes and October is over. Started the month out with the Buddy Walk in Seattle (October is National DS Awareness month) Carter ended up sick after the walk and experiencing his first fever and awful cold. Followed by Robin's birthday party. . ARRR, the pirate celebration. Then I got extremely sick which we believe was the swine flu although our family doctor would not see me because of all the hype about the swine. I was terribly sick and actually missed an entire week of work but I don't think it is as crazy as everyone is acting or how the media is making it seem. My biggest concern was Carter so our pediatrician recommended he get the vaccine because of my symptoms and so far he has been fine.
Next was Eric's big 30th birthday party at the Snoquamlie Casino. Great to see friends and celebrate my precious hubby's birthday but I will never return to that dreadful place. So much cigarette smoke that I took two showers, that night and the next day. I was home by 10 and Eric lived out his thirties into the wee hours of the night.
This week I finished conferences up at school, which are always delightful. And we celebrated Carter's first Halloween this weekend. He was quite the fierce lion. We also get to celebrate my Mom's birthday today, so we are headed down to Alki to eat at Dukes. It is absolutely gorgeous outside, so I hope my brother can take some family pictures for Christmas cards. Christmas? AAAHHH, I can't believe it is almost Christmas. Which means my little C-bug will be one in one month. This time last year I was as big as a house and counting down the days until he arrived. Our lives have completely changed since he has arrived. I don't remember what it was like without him here. Little did we know he was the child we always wanted and needed. His smile can light up a room, his laugh sometimes even makes me cry because it is the sweetest sound I have ever heard. Our son is the most amazing little man and he hasn't even turned a year yet, I can't even imagine the things he will do throughout life. He is going to change the world, one person at a time. I know he has changed my world. And if you have met him, he has probably changed your world too.

Pirate party

October was full of costume parties. Grandpa T celebrated his birthday, pirate style, something he longs to be in his next life. Grandma T threw him a surprise birthday party. We found the cutest costume ever for Carter and it was $6. I had to do some minor tailoring but nothing major and he was the cutest pirate I had ever seen!

Sweet potatoes!

We are trying to teach Carter how to bring food to his mouth. So we gave him a bowl full of sweet potatoes and a spoon and let him go to town. However I don't think much of it actually got to his mouth.
