Christmas Day con't
After Christmas morning at our house we headed over to the woods to see Grandma & Grandpa T. We were greeted with what looked like Santa's workshop. Grandma had gone to town with presents for the kids and us. We had a yummy turkey dinner and enjoyed time with family. Eric's sister came over with her husband and kids, but poor thing had her tonsils out on Monday so she could barely talk.
We stayed the night and had lots of vistors the next morning. We got a chance to see the neighbors Greg & Sue, Great Grandma & Grandpa and also Eric's Aunt Jane, Uncle Bob & kids.
Later that day we headed to my parents house for Christmas day after with them! Crazy I know, so many Christmas's! Nolan Bear found a new buddy, Mikey, with a pretty cool hat. And Carter's new buddy is Dudley the horse.

Christmas morning
We enjoyed Christmas morning here at our house with just us and the boys. Opened up a few gifts and had yummy eggs benedict for breakfast! Carter's favorite toys, Elmo remote control and new tent. Nolan, not so much into toys just yet, but loved watching his brother play.
(Christmas day con't later, I have to go because I am baking whole wheat rolls with my new Kitchen Aid!)
Christmas Eve
Food, food, more food, drinks and great company! I watched my husband eat himself into a blissful yet painful state of being. He was looking forward to Molly's Christmas Eve party since last year. Of course the hostess with the mostest, Molly had a beautiful spread of food as usual. And with Eric's no self control when it comes to good food, he had himself a hay day. I love to watch him eat, it actually amuses and also amazes me. The boy has an empty pit as a stomach, he can eat and eat and never gain a pound! Damn him! (Although I do enjoy a nice fit hubby!)
The kids were spoiled with lovely gifts from Molly, Sandy and Cindy. The boys now need a bigger closet and a bigger toy chest. To kind, but much appreciated!

Wait a minute. . .
Who has the remote control to slow down this crazy life? I want to hit pause and have time stand still. My babies are growing to fast and I am afraid if I blink I may miss something. As they grow, my heart grows with them. Who ever knew you could love this much? Sometimes when I squeeze them I'm scared I may squeeze them to tight but I just can't help myself! These boys (including the big one, we call daddy) are the center of my universe!
We have had a busy week getting ready for the big day! Christmas break is always packed with events daily. We have been spending a lot of time with Grandma & Grandpa Becker, shopping and eating! Although I must say every day that my mom and I have been running around, I pack a lunch for all of us. I remember being a kid and seeing the mom at the mall that brought sack lunches for all of her kids. I used to think, poor kids don't get to eat the fun (unhealthy) stuff! I am so that mom now, packing up just about everything but the kitchen sink when I leave the house. And as much as Eric complains when we are trying to leave somewhere he is thankful when he gets hungry, needs a wipe, garbage bag or an extra layer of clothes! Ha, mama knows best!
Anyhow we did Carter's 2 year and Nolan's 4 month check up. Here is their stats:
Carter
Height: 31 3/4lbs. (15% typical chart/50%DS chart)
Weight: 23.10in. (5% typical chart/90%DS chart)
Nolan
Height: 25lbs. (50% typical chart)
Weight: 12.11in. (10% typical chart)
Eric had to work so my mom came with me to help. Good thing because the appointment was a little rough. Carter has now decided in his old age of two that he no longer likes the doctor's office. He was wrapped around me like a monkey, not willing to move. Poor little guy had to get his blood taken to check his thyroid and for leukaemia (which can occur in children with DS) Test results came back normal and everything looks good. Nolan did pretty good with his shots but at one point both of them were screaming at the top of their lungs. Probably scaring the living daylight out of all of the other children in the office.
After their appointments we did Santa pictures. Another person on Carter's list of "not such a fan of you list". I talked to him all day about Santa and what a nice person he was, how he has a great big white beard, a soft fuzzy red suit and how he will bring you presents. Not even any sweet talking helped this situation, Santa sitting was a negative. We waited in line and got up to see him, Carter took one look and said "NOPE"! Favorite word of my precious 2 year old. Mommy got to sit on Santa's lap this year with her boys cuddled close by. Maybe next year!

Christmas card pictures
Our friend Erin snapped a few shots for our Christmas card. Here are just a few of them. If you need any pictures, she is the girl for the job! Check out her site:

And my highly recommended photographer is expecting a baby boy with her husband Steven Dean. Can't wait to meet their new little man in the spring!

Carter turns 2!
My baby boy turned two last Thursday (Dec. 2nd) and we celebrated his birthday this weekend. Wow, was it a wild one! Mama is done with parties until school starts for the kids, although we will have birthday 1 & 2 for Nolan also. Have to be fair! Now I see why people rent places out, it is worth every penny you have to spend. Oh well there was a lot of fun had by all. Although Carter was a tad overwhelmed by all of his guests, he is still a little shy around big groups of people. He has to be eased into the situation. Poor guy woke up from his nap and 20 plus people were here.
Carter has taught me so much in two years. I remember when he was first born and someone told me, God gives all of his babies to the right parents. At the time it didn't make sense and it actually made me angry but I understand it now. I cannot imagine our lives without Carter. He has a huge heart and he loves like no one I know. He is gentle and so sweet to almost anyone he meets. His smile is contagious and his laugh will have you on the ground. He talks up a storm although it is in his own language that we are still slowly decoding. He does everything on Carter time, when he is ready to do it, he will let you know. He likes to practice just to make sure it is just right. I know he will be walking any day now. I am so proud to say he is my son. Everyday I see a little sparkle in his eye that just melts my heart. I was meant to be his mama and he was meant to be my baby boy.
